PROGRAMME OFFERED

Master'sProgramme:The Master of Engineering ProgrammeinSoil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering is being offered right from the inception i.e., 1958. So far 850 scholars have obtained their master's degree. The Board of Accreditation, AICTE and National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has awarded 'A' grade to this programme.


Master's Programme by Research:The Division is also providing M.S. by Research programme in leading and emerging areas of Geotechnical Engineering.

Doctoral Programme:The Division has been concentrating on in-house research and sponsored research programmes. Presently Twenty five scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. research while ten have obtained the degree during the period between 2002 and 2014

UNDER GRADUATE PROGRAMME

This Division offers various core courses on Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engineering and Ground Improvement Techniques, including a Soil Mechanics Laboratory courses for B.E Civil Engineering course in English and Tamil medium. Apart from the above courses elective courses such as Introduction to Soil Dynamics and Machine Foundations, Pavement Engineering, Rock Mechanics etc, are also offered. Under graduate students are also encouraged to take projects in these areas.
