The Centre for Human Settlements (CHS) is an autonomous Centre of the Anna University, Chennai established in the year 1980 in compliance with one of the recommendations of the Habitat Conference of the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (UNCHS) held at Vancouver in the year 1976.

It is an interdisciplinary Centre offering Consultancy, Training, Research and Extension services in the areas related to Urban and Regional Planning, Development and Management. So far the Centre has completed 36 Consultancy Works, 24 Training Programmes and conducted several Conferences / Seminars / Workshops sponsored by National & International Organizations.
