The Bose-Einstein Science & Technology (BEST) Centre for Fundamental Research is an initiative by the honourable Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, aims to promote India’s best fundamental research centre with International Standards, which will connect academia, industries and the government to make our country attain a leadership globally in fundamental research of science and technology.

The Centre will act like a catalyst to bring synergy among different scientific teams towards carrying out advanced R&D activities and in creation of novelty in fundamental research. In a constantly evolving economic domain that faces the growing complexity of learning new scientific and technical skills, researches must prove more solidarity and capitalize the available resources in the respective scientific competencies, as well as the various methods funding. To create a remarkable momentum, our research centre is aimed to advance by bringing out the novelty in each of the fundamental research axes of science and technology, and also promote collaboration between these axes and the dissemination of findings.

The BEST Centre for Fundamental Research is proposed as an autonomous Centre of Anna University, Chennai, aimed to bringing together the research expertise available in Anna University, in the area of science and technology towards achieving novelty and quality in different branches of fundamental research and promotion of innovation for nation’s growth as a valuable resource of industry and society’s collective wealth. The Centre would also address the need to empower the faculty and the student community with the advanced scientific and technical skills to be on par with the fast growing scientific and technical competencies.
