The Centre for Professional Development Education is an autonomous centre of Anna University, Chennai-25 with the vision to impart higher education and upgrade the skills of practising engineers through the means of Information Technology. The Centre was established during the month of September 2000 with a commitment to provide higher professional education with equal opportunity to all and to generate trained manpower in all areas of science and technology so that the engineers will equip themselves and become globally competitive. The centre also provides adequate infrastructure facilities like upkeep of land and buildings, improvements to class rooms and laboratories, purchase of books, journals & other publications for the University Libraries and procurement of furniture, computers (software, hardware and consumables),machinery and equipment for conducting various self supporting programmes in all the campuses of the University. This centre also disburses salaries of over 550 regular and temporary staff under teaching and non-teaching (both technical and administrative) categories.
