• Under the supervision of Dr. Mahaboob Khan Rasool, I had evaluated the hepatoprotective and antioxidant effects of Spirulina fusiformis (a cyanobacterium family Oscillatoriaceae) against acetaminophen induced hepatotoxicity in mice. This study demonstrated that acetaminophen increases serum TNF-α and Spirulina fusiformis treatment reduced significantly reduced the elevated TNF-α level in acetaminophen challenged mice.
• I had also evaluated the hepatoprotective effect of gallic acid (3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid), a plant phenol in acetaminophen induced hepatotoxic mice and our findings reveal that gallic acidtreatment alleviates the progression of the inflammation mediator TNF-a in paracetamol-exposed mice.
• Under the supervision of Dr.JuttaPapenbrock, I had studied the homologous and heterologous expression of arabidopsissulphotransferase and D-Cysteine desulphhydrase proteins.
• Under the supervision of Prof.JagatKanwar and Dr. Rupinder Kanwar, I had studied the effects of bovine lactoferrin and survivin dominant negative mutant on Retinoblastoma cells.
At Vision Research Foundation, SankaraNethralaya, Chennai, I was a key researcher in the area of “Retinoblastoma & Therapy” at the laboratory for Ocular Pathology. In the field of retinoblastoma my major focus was targeted radioiodine therapy to cancer cells to improve the impact of radionuclide therapy on cancer cells alone. My research has direct relevance in therapy of cancers.
