Centre for Food Technology (CFT) was formed recently as an autonomous adjunct Centre under the Department of Biotechnology. CFT has emerged out as a centre of excellence in education, research and out rich activities in the discipline of food science and technology. The need base infrastructure, well equipped laboratories, franchise base pilot processing plants are the major strengths of the centre. Well qualified, skilled and expertise enriched teaching faculty, self-commitment oriented, customized intuitional ownership driven and hardworking non-teaching faculty responsible for vibrant and eco-friendly working atmosphere leaving no stone unturned to facilitate three-dimensional development of institution. About 1,00,000 sq. ft. of advanced Food tech research facilities with modern infrastructure at its Taramani campus supports the research of the faculty. Many national and international collaborations drive the multidisciplinary nature of its research. The department provides a platform for its consortium members and alumni to contribute to the growth of this futuristic technology. The centre has established mutual collaborations with various industries and National statutory bodies which funds for its fundamental research.
