Technological innovations, from modern agriculture processes to reducing food wastage through novel processing technology, are needed of production of safe and nutritious food at affordable prices. Processing, preservation and production of value added products are our main focus areas of research

With a meticulously designed curriculum, highly efficient and dedicated faculty members and state-of-the-art infrastructure, CFT serves as a knowledge-hub in creating technically sound food technology professionals.

CFT has well established sophisticated research facility at Taramani campus. CFT aspires for excellence in research and education to compensate with scarcity of skilled and expertise manpower in the existing food processing sector. It is our pride endeavour to provide the most modern education in a competent learning environment.

The centre has widened its skyline in the recent years by collaborating with institutions across the globe; from the perspectives of both research and education.

The centre has received strong support from government organisations (MOFPI, SERB, DST, DBT, DFRL- DRDO, FSSAI, CSIR Labs) as well as from many industrial sectors (Nestle, Aavin, Hatsun, Britannia, CavinKare, Symega, ITC, AVT, Hexagon etc.,). Over the years, our graduates have proven to be popular, having one of the highest employment rates among university courses and making valuable contributions to the nation. With the mounting technology and expertise among the young researchers and students, we are sure to achieve much more.
